A California named Arts Scholar and nationally recognized filmmaker, Elsis Saravia is an exceptionally driven and passionate creative striving to curate meaningful, touching, and raw work that is made not to make a profit but rather to transform and touch the lives of those who engage with them. Presently, Saravia is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Film and TV Production at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.
Knowledgeable of the Pre-Production process, Saravia has produced several short films, is proficient in using industry standard scheduling and budgeting software, Movie Magic Scheduling/Budgeting, and has studied under acclaimed "Mr. On-Budget" producer Robert Latham Brown.
Saravia has written a number of short films and is currently in development of their first feature film script. They are well versed in the industry standard writing software, Final Draft, and have taken a number of classes on script development at USC's School of Cinematic Arts ranging from Script Coverage to Motion Picture Script Analysis.
With many production credits under their belt, Saravia is a stellar addition to any project in production. Their credits vary in several roles including Production Sound, 1st AC, 2nd AC, Gaffer, Grip, 1st AD, 2nd AD, and Production Assistant on independent productions, as well as USC graduate and thesis films.
With a passion for Sound, Saravia has developed a superb skill for sound design, mixing and editing. Studying under Izumi Morocco and academy award winning sound editor, Stephen Flick, they strive for excellence at every turn and have grown exceptionally proficient in the operation of Pro Tools.
Trained in the operation of various editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve and now actively learning AVID Media Composer, Saravia is always working to hone their skills in various technical and artistic areas.
In addition to practicing filmmaking, Saravia has a profound passion for teaching. Following their involvement at two filmmaking programs, BAYCAT Academy and Camp Reels Stories they were invited back to join the staff as a paid teacher assistant, mentor, and producer. They plan on pursuing teaching seriously in the future.
